Tried rotary trimmers:
electronic ones using batteries was nice at first, but when the batteries dies down, not enough power to trim quickly and got stuck, very painful.
mechanical ones with a spring, also nice & quick at first, but because it needs to be oiled, and I tried to wash it after each use, it was quite troublesome to wash and oil it every single time; if I didn't oil it, hair could got caught in the rotary section, painful.

Now I just use the simple round-headed nose-hair scissors which works perfectly. But like this article said, don't trim too much, just the portion sticking out is enough. Frequent trimming is annoying but I have trimmed them almost to their root once, felt fresh at first, but when I went to work - at a bookstore, the dust just killed me that day, runny nose whole day !!

It's risky, but a cotton bud covered in wax, shove it up your nose, wiggle about and wait for a minute and then yank it out. Take out about 30% of your long nose hairs - it is sore though!

Nosehair trimmers are all fine and dandy, until you get one of those big, unnaturally thick nosehairs hanging down. I absolutely have to pluck those bad boys; trimming doesn't cut it, it seems like they grow several centimeters a day. But when I do pluck them, I swear it feels like they're connected to the bottom of my brain, and when it's out, I'm amazed at how long it actually is -- like it grew out of my sinus cavity! Don't ya just love these wonderful, intricate, disgusting bodies we all have?

I have a lot of nose hairs, they are not sticking out like you mentioned but they are very annoying and cause me to pick at my nose constantly. I have thick black ones and thin white ones.

I sneeze about 3 to 6 times daily, sucks. Do you have any advice?
