In your section, "Less is More for Paint Thinner", if you're using traditional latex paints, NEVER ADD PAINT THINNER! PAINT THINNER IS FOR OIL BASED PAINTS! YOU WILL COMPLETELY RUIN YOUR LATEX PAINT!

TO THIN LATEX PAINT, ADD A LATEX PRODUCT CALLED FLOETROL, MADE BY ZINSSER.

My buddy who is a house painter told me to use Room Shocker, it's a product from Biocide Systems. It's an odor eliminator that actually works. Get rid of paint, smoke, pets and all kinds of other stuff. You can find it on Amazon

Its mentioned to light a candle to get rid of paint odor - does it mean a scented candle or an ordinary candle is enough?

3 years ago I painted a newly built storage room with white paint I ha in the garage. The wallboard was new also. Now 3 years later, there is still a very strong odor and this is where we store our water and pantry foods. Do you thing this is the paint. I built an upper closet at the same time but did not use the same paint there and it if odorless.

I am not sure that the smell of latex paint is harmful. I have only read that it was on this site. What is in the paint that is harmful if inhaled?

A respirator usually blocks most of he fumes when I am painting. But sometimes In a hurry, I don't want to put it on -- and then I end up with a headache.

We painted our master bedroom & bathroom about 4 mos ago (Jan) with Exterior Satin Paint. we'd been told it was better than interior paint. There was an odor for a few days and then it had seemed to have disapated. Now that spring is here and heat, we've noticed the smell is back worse than ever. We've left the windows and fans going for 3 wks now and still have this gas/odor smell. We are puzzled as to why the smell would be back. Any ideas why it would come back or how to eliminate this horrible odor?
