You can still burn stuff in the UK, you just have to be careful about where. A beach is still safe as is camp grounds. Scotland has more open rules. But always be safe. Build a little rock pile to contain the fire or dig a little sand pit. Have a bucket of sand or water to put out any sparks. DO NOT light ANYTHING in a moss or peat area or during a drought. Better still use a fire bucket or picnic charcoal burner. I got mine from Tesco during the summer.

I thought of burning the stuff as well until I realised it's not legal here in the UK and you sort of need to bring it to the council incinerator or something.

Burning stuff sounds quite gratifying in some respects but I guess it's not the most environmentally friendly of options! Why not consider giving the stuff you don't want to other people via Freecycle or EcoBees or another reuse initiative? Just a thought!

I always thought that Glab garbage bags are missing a huge market. The ad should show a woman packing her ex's stuff in garbage bags for him to pick up on the porch. "Cheating spouse?? don't get mad, get Glad!"

Um, what if you get back together and he/she looks for it? Better you just keep all the memorabilia in a box and hidden safely away. Burning is dramatic and cathartic and all, but it's bad for the environment. Plus..again, what if your ex looks for it if you get back together?
