How to Get Rid of Abdominal Fat
As we get older, it gets harder to lose weight if you are lazy. This is the natural progression of life. Unfortunately, one of the easiest places to pack on the pounds is around the middle. Abdominal fat can be unsightly, as well as unhealthy but you too can have perfect abs. There are two types of abdominal fat. Subcutaneous fat lies just below the surface of the belly and visceral fat surrounds the organs deep inside. This visceral fat can increase your risk for many health problems, including type 2 diabetes (read more about type 2 diabetes diet prevention) and cardiovascular disease. In women, it increases the risk of breast cancer and possible gallbladder surgery.
You can read a book on Getting Rid Of Belly Fat as well as following some ways to get rid of abdominal fat:
- Do 30 -60 minutes of cardiovascular activity everyday like jump roping. This will help you to keep your weight down in all areas. There is no one exercise you can do to get rid of visceral fat, but cardiovascular exercise s the best to reduce fat all over. The best way to lose abdominal fat is to do cardiovascular activity. If you are over the age of 40 you should aim for closer to 60 minutes a day because as you age it gets harder to maintain your weight.
- Strength training will also help to fight abdominal fat. As with cardiovascular exercise, weight training will help you to rev up your metabolism. Aim to do this for 1 hour twice a week. Some large muscles to focus on are: the front and back of the thighs, back, chest, triceps, biceps, hips, forearms, and shoulders
- A well balanced diet will help keep abdominal fat down. You should try and control portions. Make sure you concentrate on getting enough protein and try to stay away from white carbohydrates and go for whole wheat bread, quinoa
- Eat a diet rich in fiber to reduce abdominal fat. Aim to eat 10 grams of fiber a day. Fiber rich foods include: berries, beans, bran, whole grain, spinach, swiss chard, nuts, kale, and cauliflower.
- Try to get 7-8 hours of sleep at night. If you sleep too little you’re body will be more hungry the next day.
You cannot get rid of abdominal fat in a day or a week. It will take time and dedication to get your stomach where it needs to be. You should have a healthy eating regiment and a set time to exercise every day. It may seems hard at times, but just envision the long healthy life (heck, live to 100 years old by dieting right) you will live with less abdominal fat.
