How to Get Rid Of Bruises Quickly

Let me guess, you are one of those people who are prone to bruising? Even if you aren’t, and this is your first bruise ever; the following article will give you some pointers on how to get rid of bruises quickly. However, before I dive into that, lets ask why you got the bruise. Was it caused by something obvious, such as a being hit with something, or having something dropped on you; or was it something that went more un-noticed until you saw the bruise. These are things to take into consideration when trying to revitalize a bruised area.

If you’re trying to figure out how to get rid of bruises quickly, there are a few things to consider. For starters are you taking aspirin or vitamin E, these have been known to cause bruising, reduce or stop them to avoid bruises, or assist in healing them faster. Consult your doctor before stopping any needed medication.

Another preventative method if you know you are going to get a bruise is to put a cold compress on the area. Anything cold will do really. This constricts the blood vessels so that less blood leaks into the surrounding tissue. This should be done as quickly as possible for best results. Also holding pressure with your hand can help as well; but do not do it to the point of pain. It is also beneficial if possible to keep the effected area elevated.

In the days after the incident that caused the bruise, things can be done to accelerate the process. Anywhere from 2 to 3 times a day you can message the area to help break up pooled blood, and you can hold a warm rag or other heat on it for 10 – 15 min each time. This helps move the pooled blood out of the area.

Exposing your bruise to sunlight is also a helpful way to get it to reduce quickly. The yellowish coloration of a bruise is caused by the hemoglobin breaking down into bilirubin. Ultraviolet light then in turn breaks down that bilirubin and helps to remove some of the discoloration.

Aside from all of these there are some home approaches some people favor. Some of these are the application of a leech, parsley, vinegar or arnica ointment. Also one can increase Bromelain intake. An example of a way to do that would be to eat more pineapple.

Out of all of these ways hopefully you will leave here with a new-found sense of how to get rid of bruises quickly
