Although a physical problem, spots have more of an impact on self-esteem than anything else. The best solution is to know how to get rid of spots overnight so that they are gone as quickly as possible. Spot treatments do not need to be costly; there are numerous products for sale that drain wallets and are not even suitable for some skin types and conditions. The best skin treatments are based on natural remedies and a good attention to skin care.

Never try to squeeze or pop a spot as this can lead to infection and redness, only resulting in something worse than before. Instead, place a clean wash cloth soaked in hot water over the spot and hold the cloth there until it has cooled. This causes the spot to shrink in size and therefore become less obvious.

Another method is to use citrus fruits, due to their oil removing properties. Lemon juice should be placed on a cotton ball and applied to the spot, removing both the infection and the oil from the skin pores. This should be washed away fifteen minutes after.

Washing the face every night is especially important for spot prevention, and particularly focusing on removing all makeup from the skin. After washing, the face should be moisturized with an oil free facial cream to avoid the skin from drying out.

Exfoliators to wash the face and facial creams can be made entirely from ingredients found in the home. One such exfoliator recipe consists of a few teaspoons of sea salt, one teaspoon of raw sugar and one teaspoon of olive oil. Exfoliators should also be rubbed gently into the skin so as to avoid damaging tender areas. After the exfoliator, a facial cream for spot removal can be made from a cup of yogurt, one teaspoon of honey, one teaspoon of glycerol and one teaspoon of lemon juice. It should be applied before going to bed and rinsed off after fifteen minutes.

A final effective overnight treatment involves making a paste from baking soda and water. It should be just the right consistency so that it is not quite dry. This is rubbed on the spot and left to dry. The paste should not be washed away until the following morning, when the spot will often have completely disappeared.

Commercial spot treatments are another option. The best ones are made from organic ingredients, and are free from animal derived products and chemicals. Those containing green tea, cocoa butter and shea butter are especially good for the skin.
