How to Get Rid of Global Warming
Global warming is a global concern and threat. With the increased generation of heat plus greenhouse gases, the whole planet becomes like a giant greenhouse.
The Greenhouse Effect
The sun releases heat and each planet in our solar system absorbs it. Normally, the heat received by the Earth is reflected back into space. Thanks to greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, methane, and CFCs released into the atmosphere, the heat coming from the sun does not escape to outer space. It gets reflected back to the earth, thereby increasing the global temperature.
The increase in global temperature is no joke. It affects everyone in almost every aspect. Aside from the scenarios predicted in numerous films in which the sea levels rise, engulfing coastal areas, global warming also brings about a lot more types of disaster to every creature living on this planet.

The increase in temperature brews more powerful storms, since they get their power from heat. Cyclones and hurricanes will devastate countries, droughts will be more common, and diseases will be more widespread. Animals may go extinct and crops will be scarce. Basically, every living creature will have difficulty adjusting or die of starvation and the loss of their habitat. The thing is, it is still not too late to reverse this effect, even if the signs are already there. All it takes is a global effort in which each and every person does small things that will have a big or even global impact.
Reversing Global Warming
There are many ways to reduce global warming, but many people think that governments and organizations are only the ones who have the power to stop and reverse its effects. There have been several laws passed and a lot of organizations have been rallying to preserve the environment. What is left now is for us to do our part.
According to statistics, some of the major contributors to global warming are power plants and vehicles. Coal-powered power plants around the world spew tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere to generate electricity. Cars and all other petroleum-powered vehicles emit carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide to enable transportation.
Each of us can do something to lessen the greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere. Here are a few ways that could greatly impact the production of greenhouse-causing agents.
Get Rid of Inefficient Appliances – Refrigerators, washing machines, and heating systems are just some of the inefficient appliances in your home. If they are already several years old, you must consider replacing them with newer and more efficient models.
Refrigerators eat a lot of power, especially old ones. They may seem to be in working condition because they still manage to keep your foodstuff cool. That is not the case. Your old refrigerator may be consuming a lot of power to compensate for that. You will notice a huge drop in your electric bill in the months right after you replace those inefficient appliances.
Use a Green Car – If you have a car, you should make sure it is well-maintained to ensure its fuel efficiency. When not well-maintained, vehicles consume more fuel, releasing more greenhouse gas into the atmosphere.
You should also check your tires for the right air pressure. Your car will consume more fuel if its tires don’t have the right tire pressure. Also, remember that your car can only carry load up to a specific weight. Overloading will increase the strain on the engine, thus burning fuel inefficiently.
These steps are not that difficult to do. You do not need to spend much money, and in the long run, you will save a lot of money, too. Cutting down on electricity and fuel consumption at the same time will save the whole world from global warming.
If everyone does his or her part, it will cause a huge impact. Just don’t do it yourself – tell your friends and family to join you. Spread the word. After all, it is not hard to do. There is no fancy equipment to buy or excessive time spent learning how to cool our planet. All it takes is a few little steps.
