Soaking in the water and vinegar solution worked like a charm. I had bought a leather messenger bag that had a very strong leather smell that would fill up a room. I soaked it in that aforementioned solution for a couple of hours and then let it dry away from the sun - and - it worked like a charm!

Hi I have a new leather gimp mask that gives of a strong odour when I wear it to the local pub I feel like everybody is looking at me because of the smell. I tried wrapping it in newspaper but this did not work.

Any other suggestions thanks.

How long will it take for the smell of new leather furniture to go away?
I have applied a conditioner (cream style) and it seemed to help; would more be better?

Regards,
Dave
