It is quite fun and challenging to watch horror movies, especially the ones with paranormal beings such as ghosts. No matter how scary the movie is, it is still a movie (Is your favorite horror movie has characters included in the Top ten most terrifying horror movie characters). The problem is, what if you start to feel like you have a ghost in your home?

A Ghost A ghost is a paranormal entity that is said to be the soul or spirit of a deceased person. There are many beliefs surrounding ghosts, but generally, they are supposed to leave this world when they die, but there are reasons why they still are present. Ghosts are rarely violent; often, they manifest their presence through any of your senses. Their presence can be seen, felt, heard, or smelled. Since ghosts are rarely violent, having one in your home should not be a big concern. In fact, there are quite a number of people who co-exist under one roof with ghosts. Not all people want to live with ghosts. A lot of people are scared of them, or at least frightened when the presence of these ghosts are felt.

Have Ghosts? Here's What You Should Do Before anything else, you must make sure that the presence you have in your home is really caused by a ghost. It just might be the wind that slams your doors and windows, light reflected off shiny objects that appears in your pictures, or a problem with your house's foundation that makes it shift or make loud sounds. Once you have confirmed that it is really a ghost, there are certain things that you must and must not do. First, try hard not to be scared. Fear can only increase the ghost's energy. Instead, act calm. You are in the world of the living and a ghost has no power here, which means it can do you no harm. Panicking will only make things worse. In most cases, these ghosts do not know that they are dead or perhaps need your help. Talking to them to let them know they are dead may help them move on to the next life. If you are brave enough, ask the spirit what he or she wants from you. You may be able to help. If you think you can't handle talking to the ghost, just tell it to leave and that the place it is staying is your home. Never shout or get angry. These emotions will generate negative energy. Speak in a calm yet firm voice.

When Ghosts Don't Leave Many ghosts leave when told to, but if this does not work for you, then you will have to resort to other methods. Just take note that you should not use Ouija boards, tarot cards, or any witchcraft unless you know what you are doing. You may risk summoning even more ghosts or spirits in your home that will add to your problems. There are many ways to get rid of ghosts, depending on your beliefs or simply which one works for you. Most of these ways are based on tradition or religion from certain cultures. You may find them weird, but a little faith will help. Here are some of the ways to get rid of ghosts: The Holy Water
  • Use Holy Water – Catholics use holy water to get rid of evil spirits and ghosts. If you are not a Catholic or you do not have holy water, just go to a church and bring a container in which you can put holy water. You can fill it up with water and have it blessed by a priest or ask them to give you some.
  • Now, sprinkle holy water around your home, focusing more on the areas in which you feel the presence of the ghost. Sprinkle it on every door and window in your home too so that these ghosts will not enter it. If you are not Catholic, you may find it odd, but do not laugh at it. If you can't do it, ask a Catholic friend or a local Catholic priest to do it for you.
  • Say a Prayer – If you are religious, then no matter what religion you are, you believe in a supreme being. Say a prayer asking for help to get rid of the ghosts bothering the peace in your home. For instance, Catholics have prayers that bless a home to get rid of these spirits. Ask a catholic friend to say a prayer in your home to cast out the uninvited spirits in there.
  • Garlic to avoid a Ghost
  • Garlic – It may seem odd, but many people use garlic to get rid of ghosts. Garlic has long been used to drive away all types of unwanted spirits. Just hang a clove of garlic along hallways, in every room, by the windows, and by the doors. It may also help if you carry a piece of garlic in your pocket for extra protection. (For other uses of garlic, read 10 unusual uses for garlic)
  • Use IncenseIncense is another effective way to repel ghosts. Simply light the stick and carry it around your home. The idea is to get the smoke in every corner of your home. Open your drawers and cabinets or any potential area where ghosts may hide, and then allow smoke to enter. Don't forget your attic, basement, or garage as well. Do this every day until you no longer feel the presence of ghosts.
  • Paint it Red – There is a belief that ghosts do not like the color red. It is a belief that these ghosts are scared of that color and will go away. Rooms where ghosts are felt should have the doors painted red so that they cannot enter. Some people place a red handkerchief beside them while they work or sleep to prevent being disturbed or frightened by those paranormal beings. (Speaking of paranormals have you experienced one of the Top ten paranormal events)
  • Blessed Salt
  • Blessed Salt – It is a Catholic belief that spirits cannot step beyond an area that has blessed salt. Blessed salt is actually plain rock salt blessed by a catholic priest. It is said to be capable of restricting a ghost from entering a place. Sprinkle it around your home, just like what is done with holy water.
  • If all of these ways fail to get rid of the ghost in your home, you may need to have your house blessed by a priest or religious leader to drive out those spirits. In rare cases where the ghost inhabiting the house is violent, you may need to have the area exorcised. (Don't you think the places featured on the Top ten creepiest haunted places must be exorcised too)

Just beware of fakes along the way that ask for “donations” or fees in exchange for their service. Of course, it would be nice if you gave a little something for the help they did, but it does not mean you are required. You may end up losing money but not the ghost in your home.

    2. Me, my brother and my cousin were playing at our grandma’s house, which was built in the late 1940’s. We were hanging out in the living room, when me and my cousin decided to hide from my brother. We went into our grandpa’s room and hid in his closet. We were hiding for only a couple minutes when we heard a lady’s voice saying “I’m coming” and it was coming from the hallway, but nobody else was upstairs. We got really creep’ed out and we ran downstairs and told my brother. The next time we went to our grandma’s house, we noticed that in the closet we heard the noise from had an entrance on the ceiling that leads to the attic. We got a video camera and put in on our grandpa’s bed facing both of the closets. When we checked the video that was filmed, we saw a black figure standing behind one of the closet doors, and When we went up to check if it was still there, but there was nothing. Now every time we go into our grandpa’s room, we hear strange noises, coming from the closet. What is it? We need help. Please give us tips if you think you think you know something about this paranormal experience.

For reasons unknown to me, I have been gifted with the ability to send ghosts to the Light and I have had 100% success. I work from a distance with a photograph of the house or person.

    8. So me and my sister have sensed and seen ghosts. We usually just see them for half a second with an angry face then leave! Now… My sister has been choked… Seen marks and felt breathing. I haven’t experienced anything… We have crosses and the ‘evil eye’ aka the Greek symbol to keep evil spirits away. How do we get rid of it? I’d like to experience NO problems. I’m annoyed from all the complaints I’ve received.

I live in an apartment in which the previous tenant died at the kitchen table. One night I was lying down for bed when I felt something lie on the bed next to me. Scared me pretty bad as u can imagine. I mentioned it to my mother. My mother told me that some of her ancestors put open Bibles in a haunted area. I tried it and oddly enough the first night I heard a mettalic clunk of which I could find a reason for and have had no problems since.
