Warm 4 tablespoons of olive oil in a bowl. Mix the juice of one-half of a lemon into the oil. Apply the mixture to the hair and scalp, rubbing deep into the roots of the hair. Wash your hair as you normally do.

Mix three teaspoons of vinegar, either the apple cider or white vinegar will do, into one cup of warm water. Use the mixture as a rinse after shampooing. The vinegar and water will not only rid your hair of dandruff flakes, but will naturally smooth and untangle as well.

Boiling a few lemon peels in about 1 quart of water for 15-20 minutes works well to rid hair of dandruff flakes. Pour the mixture onto hair before shampooing. Allow it to sit for about 20 minutes. Wash hair in the usual way.

Beer is a remedy for dandruff symptoms too. The beer boasts a good dose of vitamin B and is filled with yeast, fighting off any fungal infections your scalp may have. Rinse hair with a few ounces of the foamy ale to help fight off flakes and infuse yeast and vitamin B into your scalp.

Boil up a few beets into a pan of water. The water should turn a dark color purple when ready. Remove the beets by using a strainer. Pour the juice on your scalp, using gloves as the juice will stain skin. Leave the juice on your head for at least 30 minutes and rinse hair.

Lime juice that is massaged into your scalp will help remove dandruff flakes. Your hair will be shiny and beautiful after this treatment! Leave the lime juice on the scalp for about 15 minutes before the final rinse.
