There are a lot of pests that can get into the home. One that is the most annoying is the fruit fly. As many people know, the fruit fly is very small and can populate quickly.

It confuses people as to how one moment they see only a few and the next a huge swarm of fruit flies. That is because most were probably at the nesting site.

What causes fruit flies in a home?-

If you tend to leave a messy kitchen or have a bowl of fruit set out to encourage your family to nibble on healthy snacks, this will cause a growth in population. Fruit flies love old food or fruit that is starting to go bad.

You could even have a small piece of old dried meat that fell down on the floor along your stove, this could help create a population of these tiny little pests.

How to get rid of the fruit flies in your house can be difficult at first. It will take a little time to get a few remedies going all at the same time.

Do a deep clean on your home-

It is a good idea to start off by cleaning up messes that the flies could be attracted to. That’s right, if you are messy and they smell something that could be rotting food, they will be drawn to it. This can be old cans of sodas that have been empty sitting on a shelf.

Many people don’t know how to get ride of fruit flies in the house. They tend to get stressed and reach for chemicals. There are safer ways.

If you have vinegar in your pantry. Place a small amount in the bottom of a glass or even a bowl and place it on a counter. You can do this for several rooms of your home and in several locations. The insects are drawn to the smell.

Glue traps also work well. They are ugly to hang up, but when you place them in an area where the little bugs hang out, they collect fast. The glue has a smell that they are drawn to as well.

Another great method on how to get rid of fruit flies in your house, if you have wine, set out a glass. It works just like the vinegar. The bugs are drawn to the scent. You may want to leave the glass sitting for a day to collect as many as you can. You will be amazed at the number that will jump in for a swim.

There are a lot of great ways on how to get rid of fruit flies in your house, just remember to start with the basics first. Give your home a good cleaning, then place out the vinegar, wine and glue traps first. This is better for you and your family. Use chemicals as a last resort.
